What Does Ted R. Weiland Teach at His MissionToIsrael.org, and the BibleVersusConstitution.org websites?

Is Christ Superior to Paul?

By John Hurt

My Bible studies have led me to fully believe and try to obey the consequences of the following verses:

Christ said in John 13:16

John 13:(16) Verily, verily, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his lord, nor an apostle greater than he who sent him;

I believe that Christ is superior to any of his 12 Apostles, including the 13th Apostle, which is Paul.

In the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20, Christ instructed us to only teach His words, not the words of the Apostles, James, or Paul. Christ said in Matthew 28:

Matthew 28:(19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

(20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

I believe that Christ told us to teach only what He has commanded us. He never authorized us to teach Paul or the writings of any other man.

YHWH also holds this same viewpoint and states it in Deuteronomy 18:18-19. Speaking of Christ in Acts 3, Peter quotes the words of YHVH in Deuteronomy 18:18-19 that we must listen to Christ as Supreme:

Acts 3:(22) For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

(23) And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

We have to hear Christ first in all things, and observe what Christ has commanded and not the doctrines of other men.

Christ clearly told us that He should be our only teacher and not other men. Christ said in Matthew 23:

Matthew 23:8 But don't you be called 'Rabbi,' for one is your teacher, the Christ, and all of you are brothers.

Matthew 23:10 Neither be called instructors, for one is your instructor, the Christ.

No other man, including Ted R. Weiland, should be teaching us or instructing us. Only Christ is our sole teacher.

In Matthew 15, Christ quoted Isaiah 23:13 to warn us of the consequences of teaching the commandments of men: that following the commandments of men will make our worship of YHVH in vain. Christ said:

Matthew 15:(8) This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

(9) But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Our religion is vain when we teach the doctrines of men and ignore the Doctrines of Christ.

If you listen in church, they usually teach the doctrines of men like Paul and not Christ. Take a pen and paper and write down how many times they quote Christ in a sermon at your church. If they quote Christ at all, they will quote Paul 13 times for every time they quote Christ.

I am now trying “my best” to follow the commandments of Christ, above Paul and all other writings in the Bible. Holding the Words of Christ as Supreme is a totally different religion than what you find in church.

Witnessing to Ted R. Weiland About Christ:

I care about Ted R. Weiland, and I wanted him to know the truth: that Christ is supreme. I thought I could work with him and that he could show other people in his ministry the blessings that following Christ as Supreme could give.

I also saw that Ted R. Weiland had never once taught a series of lessons out of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), and so he had never seriously taught the Words of Christ. Ted R. Weiland teaches mostly Paul, Hosea, and various things about governments. But Ted R. Weiland has never taught even one lesson about the doctrines of Christ.

In accordance with Matthew 18:15-17, I started my conversation with Ted R. Weiland with private correspondence by letter, and I tried to go through the three-step process that Christ instructed in dealing with other Christians. Here is what Christ said:

Matthew 18:(15) Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

(16) But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

(17) And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as a heathen man and a publican.

There are three steps, the first is private communication; the second is to take two or three people with you so that every word may be established; and the third is to take it before the public.

The First Step of Matthew 18:15-17

I accomplished Step 1 -- that Christ said our discussion should be “between thee and him alone” – because I felt I needed to show Ted that Christ is supreme. I did this in private by sending private letters to Ted through the US Postal Mail, which you can read here:

Letter 1 - April 26th, 2023
Letter 2 - May 5th, 2023
Letter 3 - May 19th, 2023
Letter 4 - June 5th, 2023
Letter 5 - June 21st, 2023
Letter 6 - June 24th, 2023
Letter 7 - August 3rd, 2023

I had hoped these letters would encourage Ted to write me back or call me. But no. Ted R. Weiland did not care enough about me to write, call, or even email me.

I never intended to go beyond Step One. I wanted ALL of our discussion to be in private. I really thought that Ted R. Weiland would either ignore me, write me back and tell me I was wrong, or perhaps we could work together to find the truth.

Ted R. Weiland's Public Response to My Private Correspondence

Ted R. Weiland's only response to me was to make a very public nine part series of audio sermons called The "Anti-Paul Faction" - Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

I could not believe it! What a mistake I had made! Ted immediately started blasting me from his pulpit.

There was no phone call, no email, no written correspondence from Ted R. Weiland, just audio sermons where he referred to me as the "letter writer" and said that I was an "ignoramus" and other names. He also twisted what I said into a "straw man" that he could easily win the one-sided discussion, with just Ted speaking and not me.

Ted has his pulpit, and I had no way to refute what Ted had said.

So while I was still at Step 1 of what Christ said, Ted jumped ahead to Step 3 and "brought unto the church", without resolving anything in private, as Christ commands.

But regardless of what Ted R. Weiland does, I knew I still needed to follow the 3 step process that Christ commanded.

The Second Step of Matthew 18:15-17

To do step 2 and take two or three witnesses and meet with Ted, that was a problem. I can’t meet with Ted with two or more witnesses so that every word may be established, as Ted lives in Nebraska, and I live in Tennessee. So I chose to write letters so that the letters themselves would establish every word I transmitted to Ted.

Establishing exactly what was said seems to be the major purpose of Step 2, and documenting our conversation through written correspondence was my best solution for Step #2.

Likewise, Ted has documented his words about me with his public audio sermons.

Step 2 of Matthew 18:15-17 also seems to be about having a neutral 3rd party help us resolve our differences, before they are made public. I had no one I knew in common with Ted that could do this.

But after the tedrweiland.info site became popular on Google, a good Christian brother that knows Ted contacted me and offered to help Ted and I work together to resolve this problem. So I removed the main page of the website on 3/15/2024 so the matter could be resolved privately.

With the help of this Christian brother, I asked Ted R. Weiland to remove the The "Anti-Paul Faction" - Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 from his website, as he created these sermons by using my private correspondence without my permisson.

I also asked that Ted remove the "Misplaced Chivalry" sermons from his website for the same reason; that Ted created had these sermons by destroying the reputations of my friends, with the same technique as he had used on me.

Ted R. Weiland's technique is blast you from his pulpit without ever saying your name, but what he says is so specific, it can only be in reference to you and no one else. Then "somehow", it leaks out and everyone finds out that you are the person who is the subject of Ted's sermons.

I told Ted that there is no exception clause in Matthew 18;15-17 that lets you go to "Step 3" if you don't say someone's name, but later leak out their name to everyone.

And if you listen to Ted's sermons, they are not just against "a concept" but they are against specific person.

The result is that Ted, or "someone" leaks out that you are the person the sermon is directed against, and your reputation is ruined. This is a very "back handed" way that Ted uses to operate.

So, as part of Step 2, I asked Ted to repent and make some sort of public statement that he was wrong for not following Matthew 18:15-17 in these cases. No one should use the reputations of their fellow Christian as "fodder" for their public sermons.

I don't need a public apology for my own ego. But an apology by Ted would be the only form of assurance that he will never publicly humiliate his fellow Christians with this technique again.

And since Ted sinned against my friends and I in public, I believe he needs to repent in public.

Ted R. Weiland refused. He doesn't think it is wrong at all to violate Matthew 18:15-17 if he doesn't say your name, but "somehow" it leaks out later that it was you are the subject of his sermons.

And so this website is now back online.

So Step 2 has been accomplished.

The Third Step of Matthew 18:15-17

I am now at Step 3 to “tell it to the church” as Christ commanded, and that is the reason for this website.

And please note that in my letters to Ted R. Weiland, I repeatedly asked Ted R. Weiland NOT TO USE MY PRIVATE LETTERS TO HIM IN HIS PUBLIC SERMONS, but he did it anyway, without my permission.

And I would have just "dropped it" if Ted had not "gone public" immediately after I sent my first private letters to him.

And what is the reason Ted is publicly humiliating me for sending my private letters to him?

Because I dared to ask Ted R. Weiland, in the most patient and sincere manner, to preach Christ and not Paul. Read my letters, and you can see that "my only crime" is to encourage Ted R. Weiland to preach Christ.

And here is why I believe that Ted attacked me in public for telling him in private that Christ is superior to Paul:

If you look at Ted’s Sermon List, you will find many lessons on the writings of Paul, Hosea, and the US Constitution, and maybe the "Deity of Christ." But there is NOT ONE lesson based on the doctrines and teachings of Christ.

Why is that?

My best guess is that if Ted R. Weiland did a ‘verse by verse” study of the 4 Gospels, the Words of Christ would convict Ted of many things. He could not teach the Words of Christ that he himself does not obey, as in the following points:
